Cold Bourbon Wassail

Ingredients

  • 2 oz bourbon
  • 2 oz cold apple cider
  • 1 oz cinnamon-ginger simple syrup (recipe below)
  • Sliced fresh ginger
  • Cinnamon stick

Directions

  1. Pour first 3 ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice and sliced ginger
  2. Strain into a rocks glass
  3. Garnish with cinnamon stick

Cinnamon-Ginger Simple Syrup

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp fennel seeds
  • 1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water

Directions

  1. Roast cinnamon and fennel seeds in a pan on medium-high heat
  2. Add grated ginger and slightly caramelize
  3. Add the sugar and let it start to melt and caramelize
  4. Pour the water into the pan and dissolve the sugar
  5. Simmer to desired thickness and strain
