Fall Floral Routine for your Saturday Errands

Carving out a few moments to yourself amongst the demands of everyday life can be challenging when balancing work commitments, friends and family, or home life, but in these fast-pasted days, the importance of being intentional with how we spend our time is more important than ever.

It can feel like we don’t have time for self-care activities, but the reality is that we make time to do the things that are important to us. We rearrange plans when a sick friend is in need, we ask for support at work when life gets busy, and we can choose to spend our few precious moments of alone time doing something that fill us up instead of peering mindlessly into our mobile phones. By prioritizing going to the gym, planning girl’s nights with friends, or stopping in to create something at your local florist you are making the choice to do something that is just for you.

Consider adding a trip to Fleurish Flower Shop to your Saturday morning routine – simply stepping into the shop, with the fresh scents and bright colours will help to lift and invigorate you spirit. Plan to choose a few blooms to brighten up your house or add an extra special touch to dinner at home with friends.

Pop into their cooler to choose a few stems in your favourite fall colours or grab a bunch of eucalyptus to hang in your kitchen and enjoy it’s intoxicating aroma for weeks. If the idea is daunting, ask the florist for help in selecting a couple key flowers. Choose things that speak to you and don’t worry about getting it right. Remember, these are flowers just for you.

When selecting stems for a rustic bouquet, try to mix textures and keep a simple seasonal colour palette. Things like eucalyptus, berries, and feathery or “twiggy” varieties will add texture, while small, dark chocolate cosmos add a moody pop and pair nicely with a dark berry.

You also don’t need to limit yourself to one large bouquet in one location. Divide the bouquet into several small vases or vessels and spread them throughout your home to create a touch of colour and freshness in every space.

Not only do fresh flowers add colour and charm to your décor, they can also benefit your health. Some flowers are said to even purify the air, while just being in the presence of roses can lift your mood, make you feel more relaxed, and help to get those creative juices flowing!

For those that don’t like the seemingly fleeting feeling of a fresh bouquet, consider pressing or drying flowers to preserve their longevity so they can continue to bring health and joy to your home for a long time.
