Drizzle: The first collection of recipes

Start the New Year off on a sweet note with Drizzle!

Dote first explored the delicious local goodness of Drizzle honey in our Spring/Summer 2017 issue, where we chatted with founder and queen bee Aja Horsley about the importance of sustainability in beekeeping, supporting Canadian beekeepers, and the incredible health benefits of raw, unpasteurized honey.

Rather than blending it all together, Drizzle specializes in seasonal varieties of creamed honey, collected at different times of the year and showcasing the unique flavours of the season – Spring Honey, which is a rich, caramelly honey with notes of dandelion and chamomile, and Summer Honey, which has a beautiful buttery texture and notes of oak, clover, and wildflower. Drizzle also offers rounds of raw honeycomb straight from the hive, and we can’t think of a more luxurius way to bring a little sunshine into these dark winter nights.

This New Year’s Eve, skip the champagne, and opt for this grown-up, indulgent Winterberry Cocktail, straight from the pages of Drizzle’s new First Collection Recipe Book.  Winterberry Cocktail

1 1/2 oz vodka of choice

3 oz cranberry juice

1 oz lemon juice

2 teaspoons Drizzle Spring Honey

Drizzle Honeycomb to rim glass

Warm Spring Honey until soft in a double boiler. Add to vodka, cranberry juice, and lemon juice in a cocktail shaker. Fill container with ice. Shake vigorously for 30 seconds to combine. Using Drizzle Honeycomb, rim your favourite cocktail glass. Pour and enjoy!
